Soh appointed new Sabah Attorney General

KOTA KINABALU: Former Sabah Law Society president Brenndon Keith Soh (pic) has been appointed as the state Attorney General. He took over from Datuk Zaleha Rose Pandin on July 11 and his term will end on July 10, 2022. Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal described Soh as an icon in the legal fraternity with vast knowledge of the legal system. “I am confident that he can improve our legal system and help in the restructuring or law reforms in Sabah,” Shafie said after handing over the appointment letter to Soh yesterday. Tun Zaki appointed CJ of Dubai International Financial Centre Courts

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's former Chief Justice Tun Zaki Mohamed Azmi has been appointed Chief Justice of Dubai International Financial Centre Courts. According to a statement from the media office of the Government of Dubai, his appointment by the Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, takes effect on Nov 14. Zaki, 73, joined the DIFC Courts in December 2013, about two years after his retirement as the nation's Chief Justice. DIFC Courts deal with civil and commercial disputes in Dubai, one of the world's leading financial centres.
