In his Opening of the Legal Year 2019 address, Chief Justice Tan Sri Richard Malanjum outlined the Judiciary’s commitment to comprehensive institutional reform, greater transparency and judicial independence. He highlighted key initiatives including collective leadership, random electronic empanelment of judges, digital transformation through e-courts and artificial intelligence, stronger engagement with the legal profession, and improved access to justice. The speech reaffirmed the Judiciary’s unwavering commitment to upholding the Rule of Law, maintaining zero tolerance for corruption, and building a modern, efficient and trusted justice system for Malaysia.
