SEGi College Sarawak’s Faculty of Law recently welcomed the Honorary Secretary of the Inns of Court Malaysia (ICM), Idza Hajar Ahmad Idzam, in a courtesy visit aimed at exploring future collaboration opportunities. ICM, a prestigious organisation of legal elites, includes judges, lawyers, jurists, and legal academics, all dedicated to fostering excellence, ethics, and professionalism within the legal field. The visit was facilitated by Jonathan Tan, a SEGi law lecturer and ICM member, alongside David Bong, the Programme Leader of SEGi’s Faculty of Law.

The discussions during the visit were highly productive, with both parties keen on establishing a collaboration that would benefit law students at SEGi. The potential for joint activities, such as seminars, lectures, and educational events, was highlighted as a means to enhance students’ learning experiences and bridge the gap between academic and professional legal practice. SEGi’s commitment to providing its students with industry-relevant exposure aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting quality education and fostering strong institutions.

This visit underscores SEGi’s dedication to enriching its law programmes through strategic partnerships with esteemed organisations like ICM. The proposed collaboration is set to provide invaluable opportunities for students to engage with leading legal professionals, further preparing them for successful careers in the legal field.

This event is organised in support of the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):
