Inns of Court Malaysia is proud to support the 2025 Malaysia National rounds of the prestigious Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition on the Naegea Sea hosted by International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws under leadership of Dean Prof Farid Sufian bin Shuaib and sponsored by Shearn Delamore & Co.
Like all other years of well executed national rounds by other Malaysian host universities, this year’s national rounds has also been successfully and seamlessly carried out by host university IIUM. Heartiest Congratulations to IIUM Dean Prof Farid, Fatimawati Ismail , Julia Jasin and the entire organising team who made it happen.
The finals judged by illustrious panel of Judges HE Jacques (Jaap) Werner , YA Dato’ Raja Ahmad Mohzanuddin Shah bin Raja Mohzan and Melati Abdul Hamid saw intense and intriguing arguments between teams from Universiti Malaya and Faculty of Law UKM . UM emerged as winner and UKM as runner up as announced in the Closing.
Inns of Court Malaysia was represented by Treasurer Inns of Court Malaysia Suan Kim Mary-Ann Ooi 黄 鑽 金 and Melati Abdul Hamid at the Closing ceremony.
Inns of Court Malaysia is proud to announce that sterling experienced Jessuper Melati Abdul Hamid will conduct preparatory sessions with the winning teams to achieve best chances of success for Malaysia to triumph in victory at the international rounds in Washington DC. A sharing session for all Malaysian Jessup participants is also slated to take place in the pipeline. (details to be announced soon so watch this space!) The national rounds which took place on 22nd and 23rd February 2025 saw many Inns of Court Malaysia sterling members such as Hon. Secretary Idza Hajar Ahmad Idzam , Treasurer Suan Kim Mary-Ann Ooi 黄 鑽 金 , Andrew Heng Yeng Hoe 邢英豪 , Darren Lai , Sam Masri , You Xian Ng 伍优宪 (LL.M, ACIArb) , Jamie Wong , Freddy Choy Kay Chun and many more served as Judges for the various rounds involving the various Law schools in Malaysia Brickfields Asia College , Crescendo, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) , Faculty of Law UKM , Universiti Malaya, Universiti Teknologi MARA and Universiti Utara Malaysia
